Transcribing music can be a time-consuming and difficult task. This program was designed to make the process of transcribing a music easier. You only need to load the song or melody you want to transcribe, and the program will show you the frequencies being played in the form of a diagram. This diagram is divided in two parts: one showing the time and the other showing a piano keyboard to locate the notes to which the frequencies are equivalent. It is possible to load music directly from a CD or from your music library. Also, you can decrease the playing speed without changing the pitch of the piece. This makes writing down the notes being played easier.
It is rather difficult to get accustomed to the program's features. The diagram shows many frequencies at a time, and many of them are only harmonics, that is, notes that are additional to the main ones, which makes the reading difficult especially with multi-instrumental pieces. Nevertheless, if you have the patience, you can master all its features.
To get the best results, the program's developer recommends to use WAV format files, although the program can play other formats such as MP3 and WMA.
The shareware version of the program has some limitations, so if you want to get rid of these, you will need to purchase a license.
